My fifty-ninth podcast is up. Carl and Scott discuss the weeks events in their technology lives, in this 3rd Hanselminutiae. Who are the Spyware People? Is the AppleTV any good? What's your backup strategy? And Scott's Dad gets a Mac.

- Some other clients are Doppler (also suppose Windows CE), FireAnt, Nimiq, and PrimeTime Podcast.
Note that for now, because of bandwidth constraints, the feeds always have just the current show. If you want to get an old show (and because many Podcasting Clients aren't smart enough to not download the file more than once) you can always find them at http://www.hanselminutes.com.
I have, and will, also include the enclosures to this feed you're reading, so if you're already subscribed to ComputerZen and you're not interested in cluttering your life with another feed, you have the choice to get the 'cast as well.

To get the album art from podcast on your iPod, you need to change a setting in iTunes while your iPod is plugged in.

From the Devices source, choose the music tab. There is an option Display album artwork on your iPod. If you don't have this checked, iTunes will not copy over album art (probably to save space)

Hi Scott,

With regards to networking Macs and PCs. Just some thoughts on this and areas you could look at. I am not at my Mac now so the names may not be 100% correct, but you should be able to find them no problems.

- On the Mac: In System Preferences|Sharing make sure that "Windows Sharing" and "Printer Sharing" are turned on. This will allow you to network with Windows machines and also use/share printers. Turning these on also means that they allow them through the firewall. You can see these services then being allowed by clicking on the Firewall tab right there.

- On the PC: setup permissions, shares etc. so that the Mac can see them.

- Try having an account and password that is the same on both the Windows and Macs. So (for example) username Bob and password "secret" should be accounts on both machines. I know that this makes printing to a remote printer easier. This _may_ be what you're experiencing with the printing problems.

There should be no need ever to use smb protocol strings to connect to things. On the Mac, in Finder, click on Network and you should see the Windows machine. You'll be prompted for a username and/or password. Then you'll be shown available shares. Once you select it it appears in Finder. Then it's easy street from there.

I think that going from Windows to the Mac is easy too. I can't remember the exact details since it's been a while since I've gone in that direction.
