Just how much cruft does that add to every message? Wouldn't it make more sense to first make Outlook more polite to the rest of the world?

I'm over getting a 50kB vcf plus a few images from every outlook user who emails me, and some of the mailing lists I've joined (briefly) are ususable because the minimum message size from the most prolific posters is over 200kB. Not to mention what it does to the list archives. Adding a MS-type 30kB calendar to the vcf, company logo, certification logos, cat pictures, theme song, company disclaimer and complete copy of every message in the thread so far is not going to help matters.

What I'd like to see is much more use of text+html for these things. If you want that sort of cruft, it should be included as a URI, not an attachment. That way those who haven't ever seen an MVP logo before can visit the link and the rest of us don't get sent 20 copies of it every day.

Before you say "disk space and bandwidth are free", I only have 256kB/s downlink and my email archive (text only) is 2.5GB. There's a couple of MS developer lists that I won't put up with, because they run to >5MB/day with all the attachments.

My favorite new feature for today was highliting rows in excel, you know where it zooms down so fast and all you want to do is highlite all the rows that actually have something in them... but before you would always highlite an extra thousand rows and then when you would back out, you would un-highlite an extra thousand that you actually want hi-lited... well now when you get to the end of the content, they automatically slow down your "zooming" and you can actually accomplish what you want the first time.... COOL!

Ok totally not related to the post at all, but I gotta ask. MaxiVista on Vista, no WDDM support and hence no multiple monitors in Vista? Do you have any inside info? I saw that they finally came out with 3.0 with Vista support - upgraded - only to find out it didn't work at all. I support if I went out and got an old non-WDDM card and didn't want aero and all that it would work ok. Very disappointing.

I don't understand. Google does do it. It's called Google Calendar and it does exactly what you describe.

I like the "Mini toolbar on selection" feature. For those who don't use keyboard shortcuts it saves a lot of unnecessary mouse movement.
