I'll get around to listening to the podcast tomorrow but I can help but wonder how Nandor Tanczos is related to REST. lol

As you probably don't know Nandor Tanczos was an NZ MP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nandor_Tanczos

This looks like Unicode all over again, where Microsoft misunderstood a technology, forever tainting any claim of support for it.

Then, MS mistook the UTF-16 character encoding for Unicode itself. Now, the REST stuff on MSDN seems to talk about POX/HTTP with well-known URIs (which is why I misunderstood REST until this podcast, too).

I thought this podcast confused more than it informed. Mike didn't offer a coherent explanation of what REST is at all - as much as Scott tried to get one - he just spent all his time saying what is isn't and offering only the vaguest of ideas of what it is. Frankly, on the basis of this explanation, I think the popular misunderstanding of rest as CRUD HTTP and JSON, POX etc is far more useful and has every right to hijack the original definition!
