PDC - Come for the pageantry, leave with the software

Oh, yes.  You come to PDC thinking you'll learn lots and get software.  You'll hear the pundits speak, but you know inside what it's really about.  Pageantry.  That's right, dear readers.  It's not exactly knights-of-the-round-table-check-out-my-new-chain-mail-and-let's-go-to-the-joust-later style pageantry, but it's peacocking nonetheless.

We're all decked out in our new TabletPCs, SmartPhones, and PocketPC 2003 PDAs.  I've got my new Casio Exilim digital camera, my iPod (with new system software!) and even a snazzy new blood sugar meter for good measure.  Every power plug in my room at the Westin is full.  Even the little shaver plug in the bathroom that you're not supposed to plug anything but shavers into is charging my BlackBerry.

Yep, we geeks can really put on a show. :)
