CodeMash – I'll be there!

Cool, looks like I'll be speaking at CodeMash next year in Ohio.

"CodeMash is a unique event that will educate developers on current practices, methodologies and technology trends in variety of platforms and development languages such as Java, .NET, Ruby and PHP. Held January 10-11, 2008, at the lush Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio, attendees will be able to attend a world-class technical conference amid Ohio's largest indoor waterpark."

There's a great lineup of folks from many disciplines already, including my new co-worker Jesse "Silverlight" Liberty, not to mention Bill Wagner, Neal Ford, Matt Williams, and Dick Wall of Google and the Java Posse.

Since it's an event that mashes many things together, I've got an idea for a Managed Code + PHP + IIS7 demo that hopefully will make for an interesting keynote.

If you're in or around Ohio you might consider registering for CodeMash 2.0.0.8. It's REALLY inexpensive and a fine time will be had by all.

I'll be speaking there as well. I'm doing a talk called "Distilling the DLR" about explainging the Dynamic Language Runtime. On one hand it's explaining what Dynamic Languages are to the .NET crowd and on the other hand it's explaining to the Dynamic language crowd, like the Ruby and Python crowd, how the DLR enables their language on the .NET platform and what the .NET platform brings to the table. I talk a little about where the projects are and especially how to get involved.

I'm looking forward to your keynote Scott. With the list of people and sessions so far, CodeMash v2.0.0.8 is looking to be every bit as rockin' as v2.0.0.7 was, if not more so. If you missed v2.0.0.7 don't miss this one!

I'll see you there!

Oh... and I'm thinking about getting together an Open Spaces talk about using the MVC pattern to build web applications and hopefully foster some discussion about mvc.net, MonoRail, Rails, Grails, etc... We'll just see where it goes. :)

Looking forward to seeing you there! Hope to see you on the water slides after we're done! It is the nation's largest indoor water park, after all.
