I'm a fan of ColumbiaSoft's Document Locator here in Portland and I have a lot of friends over there, so I'm just posting to let folks know that they are hiring:

ColumbiaSoft is continuing to grow as an organization and as a result, the engineering department now has 2 job openings available. As we have all experienced, there is often a shortage of quality IT professionals and often times a referral can be a great assets in hiring resources. If you know of anyone in .NET Web development or software support looking for employment or changing positions to a fun, fast-paced environment organization where their contributions will be noticed, please have them check out the following link: http://www.documentlocator.com/company/employment.htm

I know folks who read this blog either are folks who know .NET or who know folks who know folks who know .NET so, pass this info on, as someone could find themselves a gig with a really interesting company. (Unless of course, you want to come work with us here at Corillian.) With either, tell 'em Scott sent you.

I like the ColumbiaSoft product, and I looked at this as a low-cost document management possibility at a previous job over a year ago. One of the things I didn't like about it was that their application model was to connect directly to SQL Server, and to map all client operations to database SP calls. This resulted in a somewhat tortuous and wacky security model. It seemed like they needed to build their own application server and have the client speak something other than TDS to the server. But the product is a good value, and they seemed like good folks committed to providing a good product.

Just applied for a position at Corillian through the recruting site. Unfortunately, there was no place to tell them that "Scott sent me!" :-)

Anyways, I really liked that position. It suited my skills just right.

Maybe I will take that into consideration! God knows HP has gotten cheap on me. Nothing but cut back after cut back after cut back, at least I still have the company car, that will probably be gone next year to!! Thats when I quit, thats the only thing seperating them from everyone else, in my 4 years working for them they have just cut every perk in existence. Started with Carly and now its gonna end with Mark!

Sorry for my venting lol...
