Someone explain BlogShares to me...

Posted 2005-01-06 01:28 AM in Musings.

BloglinesnewgraphApparently my blog is listed on BlogShares.com as the 9th most Overvalued Blog. However, it's my Radio Blog! That's right, the one I moved away from 18 months ago. The old link is "worth" almost 10 times the current, actual link.

What's that about? Someone explain to me what's the point of BlogShares, and why their PageRank is so violently ill.

I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

Despite pinging them (thanks pingomatic) their outgoing list of links for my blog hasn't been updated since October. I've been scobled twice since then and they didn't pick that up as an incoming link.

Still, it's a bit of fun isn't it? You can't tell me you're taking it seriously Scott, you're not becoming a hit slut are you?

It'd be a cool idea if it really kept track of stuff. I had forgotten all about it until yesterday when I was going through my referralSpam and it showed up. I'm not a hit slut :) I'm too busy wading through all the referralSpam for Viagra...;)

Scott, may be they approach bloggers as artists? While blog is alive there is more articles to come so worth of pre-existing stuff is small. Now, when blog is dead, no more masterpieces will be created. value of limited existing works skyrockets ;)

You're looking for viagra?

Oh viagra *spam*

Yea, referral spam is getting painful; one advantage of being an egotisical idiot who didn't like any of the blog engines around when he was setting a new site up and so rolled his own is that I tweaked my sql to exclude referral spams once I list them; the list I have right now is at http://idunno.org/misc/referralSpammers.aspx
