We're all hanging out at the Westin with Jas Sandhu (Developer Evangelism Program Manager), Carl Franklin (.NET Rocks), Jon Box, Mark Dunn, Michelle Leroux Bustamante, Patrick Hynds, Julia Lerman, and Alaine Gentilehomme.  That's all the name dropping I'm capable of tonight. :). We're having a blast.  I love the commaraderie of PDC.

PDC - Come for the pageantry, leave with the software

Oh, yes.  You come to PDC thinking you'll learn lots and get software.  You'll hear the pundits speak, but you know inside what it's really about.  Pageantry.  That's right, dear readers.  It's not exactly knights-of-the-round-table-check-out-my-new-chain-mail-and-let's-go-to-the-joust-later style pageantry, but it's peacocking nonetheless.

We're all decked out in our new TabletPCs, SmartPhones, and PocketPC 2003 PDAs.  I've got my new Casio Exilim digital camera, my iPod (with new system software!) and even a snazzy new blood sugar meter for good measure.  Every power plug in my room at the Westin is full.  Even the little shaver plug in the bathroom that you're not supposed to plug anything but shavers into is charging my BlackBerry.

Yep, we geeks can really put on a show. :)

PDC - It begins now...

Well, I have arrived.  I'm at PDC chillin' in one of the many spots for jacking in to the 'NET.  There's clearly more power strips than previous conferences and the wireless coverage appears to be fantastic.  (Many TechEds have seen attendees lined up against the walls in search of power)

Got in to LAX as one of the last planes before they shut down the airport (temporarily?) because of fires in the Valley.  Looks like they have folks fly into SFO or Las Vegas and bus in.  We shall see.  Otherwise, things are already looking good for a 1st class conference.

New version of UpdateVersion...great for those pesky AssemblyInfo.cs files!

Matt Griffith has updated his UpdateVersion utility, with a little help from Yours Truly and Mike Gunderloy.  Included in this update are support for a “BuildDay” algorithm ala Clemen Vasters, and various other goodnesses.  If you are constantly updating version numbers in your AssemblyInfo.cs files, check it out.  I use it in an NAnt automated build with much success.

Regulating Regular Expressions

It's OK to shamelessly plug yourself if you're introspective about it.  That's what I always say.  Roy posted Regulator and it is quite the studly Regular Expressions IDE.  A good addition to anyone's C:/UTILS.  With all these RegEx tools, I'm all set:
