OnTurning0x20AndLookingBackArt2005
It's my birthday today, I'm 20. Actually 0x20, which is 32 in decimal. Sigh. I'm no longer "dude" at the local video store, I'm "sir." I'm not carded anymore. I'm typing this post one-handed because my greatest accomplishment is asleep in my other. I didn't even notice the time go by.
Looking back at my blog, I posted on my birthday in 2003 but didn't in 2004. What happened in 2005?
- Began my 5th year at Corillian. Thanks Chris! Voyager hit 3.2 and Voyager SDK hit version 2.1 last year. A lot of banks are running our stuff and we're still having fun.
- Joined ASPInsiders, was renewed as an RD and as an Architecture MVP.
- Got DasBlog 1.7 out the door. DasBlog 1.8 came 8 months later. Thanks Omar and Clemens!
- Forgot a lot of Amharic and learned a lot of isiNdebele (isiZulu)
- Set VB6 = Nothing
- Saw my name sullied. ;)
-
Got my music piped in around the house.
-
Made some Home Movies with Rory.
-
Bought a second house and rented it.
-
Presented at Code Camp but left early because my mother-in-law was in town from Zimbabwe.
-
Threw Watirmaker to the winds.
-
Learned where my readers are.
-
Saved my ass with a little shareware program when I deleted photos of my mother-in-law.
-
Worked on the Wireless PC Lock with the brilliant Bryan Batchelder.
-
Loved my PSP and rediscovered MAME.
-
Realized I'm a teacher.
-
Read a lot.
-
Became a dad.
This year I aim to quit caffeine (again), lose 10 pounds (or at least move it around), continue to make eFinance work at Corillian, teach Z ASL (Sign Language) along with English.
P.S. Here's some birthday Z for ya.
